President
Jill O'Shotz
Hi, I’m Coach JillO, and I’m obsessed with Roller Derby and Roller Skating. I found derby in 2011 and started skating on the banked track with the Arizona Derby Dames. It was a life changing adventure that I didn’t know I was looking for. My four children also participated in derby with me at different times and different levels, and I still love skating with them when I can. Coaching new skaters, both adults and juniors, quickly became my absolute favorite part of derby. My passion is empowering and encouraging skaters to discover that they can do anything and everything they set their minds to and that the journey should be FUN! I live in Bismarck with my daughter, my son and our 3 dogs, and I have a gorgeous granddaughter in Arizona who I FaceTime every single day. In my other life, I am a pediatric occupational therapist, working with children with special needs. My mission is to share the magic and joy of the derby community with all who are interested. Roller derby is a sport that is often misunderstood and I hope you will join us to see what modern short track roller derby is all about! You’ll probably surprise yourself if you do.

Redneck Crazy
Howdy! I'm Redneck Crazy, aka Viola. I am and always will be a small town girl. I grew up on a small ranch in a tiny town in Colorado. I've been hunting, fishing, and camping my whole life. Growing up, I believed life was just more fun when you got to play in the mud. I still believe that. I have a rewarding job working with the disabled, and I'm a sports photographer on the side. I have also dabbled as a youth football coach and loved it. I bake, do stained glass, and have recently learned to sew. I have wanted to do roller derby since I was 10 and lived at the roller rink. It took me 31 years to fulfill that dream! It just goes to show it's never too late. The last few years have been amazing and it was worth the wait.

Life roles: Mother, Baker, Photographer, Writer, 9-5’er I love baking and am always up for making treats for friends and family, so much so I started a small baking business. Between that, bowling, derby skating, and a full-time job, I keep pretty busy. I also enjoy taking long driving trips which allow for camping, fishing, and photography opportunities. I joined derby by accident. Thinking I was just going to get some lessons on relearning how to skate, I found myself joining a local league. That opened the door to joining NDLD, and now I am home. I love the feelings of confidence and strength I get from my teammates. It also gives me much needed exercise in a fun, supportive and safe environment.
