Codes of Conduct

     North Dakota Legend Derby is committed to providing a safe and comfortable climate of encouragement and FUN for all skaters, volunteers and fans. We strive to create an enjoyable experience rich in tolerance, understanding and mutual respect for all skaters, volunteers and fans, in all event venues and grounds, including parking lots, where all participants are made to feel equal in dignity and rights. 

 

     Short Track Roller Derby is a supportive and accepting community and it is important that our skaters and participants feel safe and successful and that they enjoy their time with us. This is a recreational league that is dedicated to developing strong, responsible, confident and compassionate individuals, empowered to be legends in their own lives.  We want our skaters to skate hard, play hard, challenge themselves, challenge their teammates and succeed. 

 

     We will make every reasonable effort to ensure that all skaters and participants are safe, protected, free from harassment of any form, violence, illegal activities, or bullying that can result in a loss of skater comfort.

 

     No skater or league participant will be harassed, bullied or discriminated against due to age, skill level, sexual orientation, gender identity, citizenship, religion, race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, disability or any other personal status or in retaliation for an unrelated complaint being filed. 

 

     Bullying, sexual harassment and discrimination based on age, sex, sexual orientation, citizenship, religion, race, color, national origin, ethnic origin, disability or any other personal status is ILLEGAL under federal and state laws and will not be tolerated within the league.

 

     All members of North Dakota Legend Derby, are expected to behave in a manner that is sportsmanlike and respectful to officials, volunteers, spectators, facilities, and fellow skaters.

 

     We have  Codes of Conduct specific to each of the following categories: 

 

     League Members and Volunteers are Required to read and acknowledge or sign each appropriate Code of Conduct before they will be permitted to participate in League activities. Fans Code of Conduct will be posted conspicuously at open events and by their presence, fans agree to abide by the COC.
